Leadership in investigation projects related to Operação Lava-Jato (Car Wash Operation, the largest corruption investigation in Brazil) that identified improper payments of over USD 65 million;

Deployment of automated tools (SAS, IDEA e ACL) to analyze trends, abnormal patters and suspect transactions for over 10 years of payments and other significant financial data;

Member of the team tasked with investigations of FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) violations for Latin America.

Chief Compliance Officer for Brazil. Full reporting line to the local CEO and dotted reporting line to the Chief Risk Officer at Elavon Financial Services headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.

Leader of the Operational Risk Management Program providing guidance and assistance to the business lines. Risk and control assessment and operational losses report;

Strategic design and Implementation of the Third-Party Risk Management Program and processes. Supporting the procurement function in performing on-site assessments, compliance, regulatory and integrity audits, and monitor third party risks and mitigation procedures;

Development, implementation and monitoring of the compliance matrix according to Brazilian regulation, as well as the rules for Payment Institutions defined by the Central Bank of Brazil (Law 12.865);

Coordination with local legal counsel and regulatory for compliance with Elavon’s Code of Ethics and Integrity Program, local anti-corruption and bribery law and FCPA, monitor Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Controls) sanctions processes.

Co-founder, in charge of the company's strategy and finance. MPA was a start-up with the goal of providing claims and collections management services for large companies.

My main responsibilities within the company were: Definition and consolidation of the bussiness and processes model; Definition, implementation and follow-up of the strategic plan; Design and implementation of internal processes models.

Additionally, I was involved with all the aspects of running the business on its start-up phase, such as: relationship with outsourced accounting firm and banks and also support on new business development.

Deployment of innovative Data Analysis and substantive testing automation procedures in order to minimize audit risk, increase efficiency and ultimately reducing cost.

Nextel

Senior Manager, tasked with the inception and leadership of Nextel’s Internal Audit Organization in Brazil. Local report to Brazil’s CFO and the Chief Audit Executive in Reston, VA. Implementation of policies, methodologies and Quality reviews. Hiring and development of Operational and IT Audit, and Fraud Prevention teams.

Development and implementation of Internal Audit's risk-based annual plans, considering internal and external factors such as: Regulatory bodies, Board of Directors, Audit committee, and leadership teams in Brazil and the USA;

Led the Sarbanes Oxley Act certification effort. Primarily responsible for the coordination of Internal Audit and the independent auditors to test controls and processes to ensure adequate audit procedures in compliance with PCAOB’s (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board) standards;

Execution of special Investigation of cases raised on the ethics and integrity hotline as per FCPA and Nextel Code of Ethics.

Senior Manager, IT Audit (São Paulo Office)
Support to financial audit teams in risk evaluation and controls identification for automated processes and systems. Development of IT contingency risks, business impact analysis and business recovery strategies. Participation in IT due diligence engagements supporting EY’s Mergers and Acquisitions teams.

Senior Auditor, IT Audit (New York City Office)
Support in the definition of audit strategies through risk analysis, control identification, and assessment of IT processes. Deployment of technology assisted tools to test and validate the securities portfolio for large investment funds.

Senior Auditor, Financial Audit (Fortaleza Office)
Performed risk analysis, assessed client’s processes, assist the execution of assessments for both manual and IT controls. Additionally, tested accounting balances and analytical reviews of financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
